Romeo and Juliet never wrote love letter to each other or did they? Shakespeare was never clear on that issue. The thing is Romeo and Juliet never had to write love letters because for one paper was expensive and ink was a precious commodity. Jokes apart, it is immaterial whether they wrote love letters to each other or sent email to each other but what is important is to wonder if they would write love letters or sorry letters to each other if they were living now. The answer would definitely be no. the reasons are far too many. Let us study a few reasons. The advent of computers and subsequently the internet has killed the creativity of our youngsters and the art of writing love and sorry letters has disappeared with our previous generations. Cellular phones have introduced the SMS system of communicating through which lovers can either patch up or break up through the typing of a few words on their devices.

Gone are the days when lovers used to sit down under a tree contemplating on the right words that can make an impact when they write to their partners. The romance in writing with a pen, paper and ink is completely different from typing a few words on the comp or the cellular/mobile device. The passion involved in writing letters of forgiveness from your loved one is completely different from using funny acronyms through the SMS. Flowers and chocolates and teddy bears are all fine but if you really want to your girlfriend to come running to you the advice is “Write a sorry letter to Girlfriend”.

Write with feeling and with reason. Write it in a way that is touching without being melodramatic. Reason your letter with logic but not with ego. Speak your mind through the letter but understand she has a mind too, respect that. Tell her how much you miss her and how she complements your life. Plead with her but don’t beg.
