There are around a thousand ways that can make your wedding the costliest one celebrated ever. The designer wedding gowns, elegant engraved invitations, and best photographers can cost you quite a few thousands of dollars. But the best tricks are those, which make your wedding look nice when it remains a cheap and budget friendly one. Here are some tips that will surely help you to plan the ideal wedding even if there is a budget constraint.

Wedding gowns and accessories

Yes this is true that the wedding gowns at the best shops can be as beautiful as the one of Cinderella’s. They can be designed out from the costliest silk decorated with silver and golden flowers-ready to dazzle the eyes of a would-be bride. But unfortunately the price tag attached to it can make you faint on the spot. So why don’t you go for the handmade ones made out of some equally glossy but cheaper material designed by you? They will look good on you as well as suit your taste perfectly. Similarly if you can settle on the handmade wedding rings and sleek and trendy tiaras then the budget will be within reach.

Reception expenses

The reception ceremony often demands a lot from you as they are meant to be the best ones. But you are one who needs to make it budget friendly at the same time. Now-a-days the fresh flowers cost a lot. So limit the amount off flowers used in the bouquets and decoration. If you are planning to throw the reception party in a lavish hotel then stop yourself then and there. The cheaper idea would be arranging it on the spacious garden of a relative or in a club. Cut the cost by fixing a mixed menu instead of the\he traditional three course meals. Make sure that the quality of the food is excellent so that the guests do not get a chance to criticize it.

Other expenses

The other expensive parts of a wedding are the photography, invitations, wedding cake etc. The best idea is to appoint your friend who has inclination towards photography to take the snaps of the wedding. Otherwise you can look for the professional ones who offer the best rates. The handmade wedding invitations are the best cost effective solution of saving on the stationery. Limit the size of the wedding cake and concentrate on the taste of it.

Now the final tip is – add the warmest of your emotions to the arrangement so that they cover even the nominal flaws.

  1. As a wedding videographer in the UK we get to see lot’s of interesting weddings of all budgets! We have attended weddings that cost around £40-50000 to smaller weddings costing around £2-3000.
You can see where the money has been spent instantly when you arrive. The Bride is getting ready in a top hotel or castle, she has six bridesmaids all with designer dresses. The groom is also getting ready in a top hotel or castle and his bestman and ushers are all in designer suits. The Wedding dress is top designer probably costing around the £5000 mark and then the cars arrive to collect them to take them to the Church. Four Rolls Royce, two limousines for the men. Then we see the guests at the church. 300 of them all waiting for the bride!

Then it’s off to the Golf Country Club for the wedding breakfast, champagne on tap all day long and the catering bill for all the guests as well as free drinks comes to £1000’s.

Then the evening fireworks that have cost £1000 per minute and the display goes on for 20 minutes or so followed by the 10 piece band for the entertainment.
I have seen these weddings and you can see where the money goes.

Then I have seen weddings on a much smaller scale. Bride and Groom get ready at home. Two or Three bridesmaids. 3 Ushers and a Best Man. The guys arrive in their own cars and the Bride arrives with her father in a Rolls Royce which has made two trips dropping the Bridesmaids off.
Around 80 guests arrive at the Church, the wedding breakfast is in a nice Hotel with great grounds for the photographs and then the DJ turns up in the evening.

The difference is 10s of thousands of pounds/Dollars. The similarity is two people getting married, having a fantastic day and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Weddings are what you make them and on both sides of the fence, although one wedding costs £50,000 and the other cost £2000 it is still a special day for the Bride, Groom and the families and a great day to remember.

We have a website in the UK that sells cheap wedding invitations online and some of the accessories we sell are cheap, only in price. The products look wonderful and no one would know!

It’s amazing how low budget weddings can look so beautiful if you hunt around for quality at low price.

    Good luck with your plans.
