Separations are hard for everyone. It can be excruciatingly painful for those in love or were in love. You get close to people whom you love with all your heart and separation from them will make you feel like that you have lost a part of your own body, like a limb or leg. Being in love is great and the period spent in loving one another is perhaps the most blissfully content times in one’s life. Constant attachment to your beloved over a period of time might also lead you to depend totally on the other for your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical needs. A sudden loss of a partner in such a situation will make the other one’s life miserable and a living hell. In times like these one will ask themselves the question ‘How can I move on’?
Separation can result from a lot of causes. It could be divorce, misunderstanding, transfer, relocation or even death. Whatever the cause of separation is, the feeling of loneliness is hard to digest but it is important that we move on. Even in extreme causes of separation like death, life has to go on. Well it is easy to say it but how does one do it? The first thing to do is to take stock of the situation and embrace reality. Accept the ground situation and assess ways to rectify the situation. Make sincere efforts to mend fences and if that doesn’t work, you have to simply move on by forgetting the past.
They say father time is a great healer and all your pains will disappear with the passage of time. Remember that we all are visitors here and nothing is permanent here. No material comforts or physical comforts are for us permanently and relationships are forged and broken here during our brief stay on this planet. The best way to move on is by accepting reality, philosophize and lighten the situation and simply put our best foot forward for a happier future. Don’t forget the lessons learnt but try to forget the pain causing incidents in your life. Remember that all incidents and situations are only to make you a wiser and a better person. Don’t forget wisdom is acquired more by unfortunate events than by fortunate ones.
